About the Editor
R. Dale Brunet is a name synonymous with innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. As the author of "Use What You Got and Make a Lot" and the creator of "The Artificial Intelligence Survival Guide" series, R. Dale's career is a testament to leveraging technology and creativity to achieve remarkable results.
From a young age, growing up in the suburbs of New Orleans, R. Dale was captivated by the burgeoning field of Computer Science. This curiosity led him to pursue a career in Information Technology, where he amassed over 30 years of experience working for small and large businesses throughout the U.S.
His professional journey is a rich myriad of roles ranging from building and selling personal computers, Internet marketing and webpage development to software engineering and virtual reality modeling and video editing. These diverse experiences laid a robust foundation for his future entrepreneurial ventures.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, R. Dale relocated his family from New Orleans to Colorado Springs and continued his IT journey developing software for the United States Air Force Satellite Control Network. In 2010 both he and his wife lost their corporate jobs due to the economic downturn of the time.
Demonstrating his characteristic resilience, Mr. Brunet took a significant leap by founding Use What You Got, LLC later that year. This move marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. The name itself embodies his philosophy: making the most of available resources to create something extraordinary. This venture was not just about business; it was about demonstrating that with determination and creativity, one can achieve remarkable outcomes even with limited resources.
Driven by a passion for food and community, Mr. Brunet, aka "Chef BB" ventured into the culinary world. He started a private chef business, "The House Chef of Colorado Springs," which eventually led to the opening of "Momma Pearl’s Cajun Kitchen" in 2013. Named in honor of his mother, the restaurant quickly became a beloved spot for authentic Southern Louisiana cooking in Colorado Springs.
Despite the challenges, including the impact of COVID-19, Mr. Brunet's resilience and innovative strategies kept the restaurant going for nearly eleven years. However, despite his best efforts, Momma Pearl's Cajun Kitchen closed in late spring 2024 due to ongoing financial challenges post-pandemic.
The next chapter of Mr. Brunet’s journey involved harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence. Fascinated by its potential, he began exploring how AI could revolutionize various aspects of business and daily life. This exploration led to the creation of "The Artificial Intelligence Survival Guide" series. The first edition, "For Humans," has already been published, with more editions focused on demystifying artificial intelligence in numerous business fields are in development.
Using AI as a creative platform has been transformative for Mr. Brunet. It has enabled him to achieve goals previously unimaginable and opened new avenues for sharing knowledge.
